- Texas AG Ken Paxton appointed Austin Kinghorn as Deputy Attorney General for Civil Litigation, Ryan Walters as Deputy Attorney General for Legal Strategy, and Billy Cole as Principal Deputy Solicitor General.

- Former Democratic Colorado House Speaker Crisanta Duran joined the race for AG in 2026. She joins Boulder District Attorney Michael Dougherty, also a Democrat, who recently announced he is running for AG. Term-limited Colorado AG Phil Weiser is running for governor in 2026.
