Professional background: Brian Schwalb was sworn in as the second elected DC Attorney General in January 2023. Prior to being elected, AG Schwalb served as the partner-in-charge of the DC office of Venable LLP, and previously served as vice chairman of the firm. Early in his career he worked for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Honor Program as a trial lawyer in the Tax Division.

- Equity: Addressing disparities in wealth and income, home and business ownership rates, and access to health care across the city.
- Juvenile Crime: Combatting high levels of juvenile crime by addressing root causes.

Education: AG Schwalb earned a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
