Spotlight: North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson

Professional background: Jeff Jackson represented North Carolina’s 14th District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2023-2024.  Previously, between 2014 and 2023, AG Jackson represented Charlotte and surrounding areas in the North Carolina Senate. He dedicated much of his time in the general assembly to reforming the criminal justice system.  AG Jackson also served as a business litigator at the law firm Womble Bond Dickinson and an assistant district attorney in Gaston County where he tried more than one hundred cases. AG Jackson is a major in the Army National Guard.

Key priorities for his first term include:

  • Tackling the fentanyl epidemic
  • Supporting law enforcement
  • Protecting veterans and seniors from fraud
  • Defending Constitutional rights

Education:  AG Jackson earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in philosophy from Emory University. He earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

Personal: AG Jackson and his wife, Marisa, live in Charlotte. They have two sons and a daughter.
