Keith Ellison was elected as attorney general in 2018 and reelected in 2022. Prior to being elected, AG Ellison served in the U.S. House of Representatives, including 12 years on the House Financial Services Committee. Before being elected to Congress, AG Ellison served in the Minnesota House of Representatives and worked in private practice specializing in civil rights law and criminal defense, including five years as executive director of the Legal Rights Center.
