- The NLRB and Michigan AG Dana Nessel entered into a one-year agreement to increase inter-agency cooperation to strengthen worker protections.
- The Memorandum of Understanding strengthens the agencies’ partnership in areas of mutual interest including protecting Michigan workers against misclassification as independent contractors; promoting fair competition in labor markets; protecting rights of gig economy workers; ensuring workers can exercise rights without retaliation; and identifying and prosecuting labor traffickers.
- The agreement allows the agencies to collaborate by sharing information, participating in monthly meetings, referring potential statutory violations to one another, conducting cross-training for staff of both agencies, and partnering on investigative and enforcement efforts, among other things.
- We have previously reported on the NLRB’s partnership with the FTC to protect workers.
